FlexPod crosses $3 billion joint sales mark for Cisco and NetApp
Cisco and NetApp reveals that the FlexPod integrated infrastructure solutions established in 2010 has generated $3 billion joint sales. The FlexPod unit shipments have increased to 81% with demand for FlexPod solutions reaching a $2 billion annualized demand run rate. The integrated infrastructures combine computer, networking, and storage into a single system. It further provides the ability to improve the efficiency and swiftness of data centre infrastructure and reduces the deployment risks. Resultantly, the integrated infrastructure is emerging as one of the fastest growing segment of the IT sector.
Tom Georgens, Chairman and CEO, NetApp commented, “Our partnership with Cisco on the FlexPod integrated infrastructure redefined how enterprises deployed private cloud infrastructure. As the data center extends to include public cloud services for better economics and infinite scale, NetApp and Cisco are again leading the way, helping customers realize the transformative business benefits of hybrid cloud.”
On the other hand, John Chambers, Chairman and CEO, Cisco believes, “As CIOs look to simplify IT and focus on delivering business outcomes, there’s been a major industry shift toward integrated infrastructure. In 2010 Cisco and NetApp launched FlexPod to deliver a more efficient, agile data center infrastructure to customers. Together, we’re evolving the FlexPod architecture together to help our customers unleash their applications and realize the promise of hybrid cloud environments.”
