Barracuda Networks rolls out new Web Application Firewall version 7.9
Barracuda Networks has rolled out its new Web Application Firewall version 7.9. This version comes with Microsoft Azure support along with automated provisioning and configuration, which will help the customers to take advantage of the dynamic, elastic nature of the cloud. This new web application is available in the Azure Gallery of the new Microsoft Azure Certified programme. The company showcased this new service at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference held at Washington DC.
On this new offering of the company, Michael Hughes, SVP Worldwide Sales, Barracuda said, “Customers today are looking to reduce time and costs associated with bringing applications online, and having our solutions available as part of the Azure Gallery simplifies the process of migrating the applications to the cloud in a secure fashion. For many of our customers, these applications are their business, meaning they have to be available, secure, and provide a great user experience. As one of the first Microsoft Azure Certified partners, we see tremendous opportunity with Microsoft Azure to be able to seamlessly deliver the security, value, and peace of mind to our enterprise customers.”
This new application of Barracuda will deliver a set of functionality which can be accessed via the RESTful API interface. This functionality will enhance the automation process for configuration and provisioning. Along with this it also allows the customers to make use of tools like Systems Center and Powershell in their automation processes. Moreover, this new application is also equipped with improved reporting and notification, increased application security, and a new infrastructure for templates.
The company also recently introduced virtual licence portability that provides customers with investment protection and great amount of flexibility. Along with this it will also enable the customers to the ability to transfer virtual solutions from a public cloud to their private cloud environment, or between public cloud services – at no additional cost.
