Barracuda Networks

Barracuda Networks reveals the availability of new capabilities to support Microsoft deployments in the areas if Windows Remote Desktop Services, virtualization and public cloud. The Barracuda NG Firewall is aimed to protect edge deployments in environments with limited IT resources.  Barracuda is gaining immense importance as more and more companies are moving to public cloud environments.

Stephen Pao, GM Security at Barracuda believes that, Firewalls keep up with tech shifts from on-premises, desktop, dedicated server hardware to mobile, virtualized and cloud computing platforms. The Barracuda NG Firewall will enable the customers a swift and safe transition to newer topologies proposed in the Microsoft ecosystems. The new capabilities will expand the company’s integration with Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization and Microsoft Azure public cloud infrastructure enabling our customers to further capitalize Microsoft’s investments.

The latest version of Barracuda NG Firewall incorporates full user awareness for Windows Remote Desktop Services. It makes use of small, lightweight transparent client, which simplifies integration and does not rely on external authentication protocols. It also lends support for Hyper-V virtualization. It further supports the next-generation firewalling capabilities and high speed site-to-site secure remote access from on-premises networks to Microsoft Azure or Vnets within Microsoft Azure. It allows the organisations to install securely interconnected multi-zone network architectures.
