Infosys’s quest for Shibulal’s successor ended with the appointment of Vishal Sikka, former CTO of SAP, as the Chief Executive Officer and MD of Infosys. He will be joining the board on 14th of this month and take over the reins of CEO and MD from S D Shibulal on August 1.

Vishal Sikka was a member of the Executive Board of SAP.

Speaking on his appointment, Sikka held that he is honored to lead Infosys and looks forward to work with and learn from talented Infoscions around the world. Here, the Infosys Nominations and Governance Committee, besides Murthy, and Kamath the board have been instrumental for the opportunity.

UB Pravin Rao, President and Director, has also been elevated by the board as the Chief Operating Officer, with effect from June 14.
