Kaspersky Internet Security was ranked as being the paramount protection solution following an endurance test carried out from September 2013 to February 2014 courtesy; the experts of the independent laboratory AV TEST. Kaspersky Lab’s product reached top scores on behalf of malware detection while maintaining a lower system load than that of any other tested product.
AV-TEST’s endurance test is but an extended study in which different internet security suites are tested in excess of three two-month periods on three different operating systems reading in the league of — Windows XP, Windows 7 in addition to Windows 8.1.
This testing method from its quarter aids to be able to find the best solution by way of analyzing its efficacy on a long-term basis, not like routine tests that can from their corresponding part only showcase the competences of the security at a given moment in time.
The specialists from their end assessed 24 security suites from different vendors in three categories. The first category, Protection, tested the combined capability to be able to detect a reference set of malware and to be able to identify fresh fragments of previously unidentified malware. The second one, System Load, makes evident the impact of the security suite on system performance and measures delays in the installation or execution of programs, website responses followed by data downloads. The last category, Usability, assesses the precise identification of legitimate programs as well as websites.

It bagged 6.0 out of 6.0 points in Usability and Protection categories, in so doing detecting 100 % of 60,000 known portions of malware and finding all of around 400 samples corresponding to zero-day malware in a real-world test coxswained by means of visiting recently infected websites besides opening suspicious e-mail attachments. In addition, Kaspersky Internet Security also got 5.8 out of 6 in System Load, pasting its nearest rival by that of 0.3 points.
“Users of modern security suites don’t want to be disturbed either by viruses or by antiviruses. The solution’s ability to avoid excessive drain on system resources and avoid false positives is just as important as its primary function of detecting and neutralizing malware. Kaspersky Internet Security’s impressive results in this test reflect the optimal comfort level our customers enjoy in addition to unquestionable security for their systems,” stated Oleg Ishanov, Director Anti-Malware Research, Kaspersky Lab.
