Wipro receives ‘Best Company to Work For’ title

Wipro the IT and software firm is eyeing one getting into various deals relating to digital technologies like social, mobility, analytics and cloud. As reported by the Times of India, Jeff Heenan-Jalil, global head of Wipro’s advanced technology solutions unit stated that, the company aims to spot is deals in the $2.5-3.5 million (Rs 15-21 crore) range, we are seeing deals worth $5-10 million (about Rs 30-60 crore) in the pipeline. This year in April, the company has announced the merger of its information management and analytics business with its advanced technology solutions unit. This combined unit is now headed by Heenan-Jalil.

Many other rival companies of Wipro like TCS, Infosys and Accenture have established separate units in order to target the digital business. The business has evolved due to smaller deals and it has also posed a problem for IT companies that are trying to raise their share of revenue through these services. Talking about this, Heenan-Jalil further added that, we have about 12,000 employees and we are developing themes around business offerings because we don’t just talk to CIOs anymore, its business heads who are more interested in outcomes than the technology. We are also positioning our sales force to do this.

The digital units of the other companies have full-fledged staff and are also earning good revenues. Accenture’s digital unit has about 22,000 employees on the other hand TCS expects the digital business to become a billion dollar entity by next year. The market is also becoming competitive and the companies are also gearing up for the tough competition.
