It’s splitsvilla for HP

Hewlett-Packard has decided to separate its computer and printer business from its corporate hardware and services operations. As reported by the Wall Street Journal the company is planning to split in order to focus on its faster-growing business. Earlier in August the company has also reported a fall in profit despite a rise in revenue, helped by improved PC sales.

The news report further suggests that Chief executive Meg Whitman, who was working on reviving the fortunes of the 75-year-old firm, will now head the new spin off Enterprise Company. Along with this she will also be the chairman of the HP’s printing and PC business.
