Vodafone appoints P Balaji as director, regulatory and external affairs
Vodafone India is all set to welcome P Balaji the former Nokia India chief to its family. He will be joining Vodafone India as the director, regulatory and external affairs as stated by the telco. He will be looking after the regulatory and external affairs for the India unit.
He will be replacing TV Ramachandran, resident director, regulatory affairs and government relations and Rohit Adya, director, external affair. Both the officials are set to retire from the company in December and February respectively. Speaking about taking up the new role and responsibilities, P Balaji said, “It’s my personal challenge. I just have to keep an open mind. I bring an understanding of the telecom business and can contribute in different dimensions, but I have to learn as well along the way.”
On the other hand talking about the new appointment and retirement of the officials, Vodafone said, “With Ramachandran and Adya retiring over the next few months ,we are using this opportunity to fine-tune our organisation structure by merging the regulatory and external affairs functions, for there are strong areas of synergy between them.”
