Mphasis recieves the Green Co’ Bronze certification honour by CII
An HP company Mphasis, that deals in providing IT services has been awareded with ‘Green Co’ Bronze certification honour by CII in association with the Green Co Rating System. The award notifies the contribution made by Mphasis in the sector of enviornmental performance. The certification makes Mphasis the first company in India to obtain Green Co CII – Godrej GBC. The firm recived the award by Suresh Prabhu, former Union Minister for Power at the Green Co Summit 2014that was held in Chennai. The ‘Greenco’rating is the first of its kind in the world introduced by CII (Confederation on Indian Industry). This rating system functions as innovative landmark for companies following the green to assess and what they are doing to enhane and follow the green enviornmetal path. Presently, there are 26 companies which are rated under Green Co.
The Manglore facility of the company was selected as the sample and underwent the process of audit six times in the last 18 months by CII as part of the certification process. As per the process the company was jugeded on 9 parameters of enviornmental practices. These 9 parameters include Energy Efficiency, Water Positive Status, GHG Mitigation, Waste Management, Material conservation, Recycling & Recyclability, Green Supply Chain, Renewable Energy, and Toxicity Reduction & Stewardship.
The Mphasis Manglore facility of the company succeeded in achiving the honour because of its intelligent policies. The company is countinuously working towards minimising the carbon footprint and increasing the health and safety standards of its employess at the office. The award demonstrates the that Mphasis is detremined towards goals like sustainability, employee wellbeing, safety and resource conservation initiatives undertaken within the organization.
